FIJI- Police have launched an investigation into allegations of theft and sexual assault involving three Virgin Australia (VA) flight attendants during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Nadi, Fiji.
The incident occurred after the crew members spent time at local clubs in the Martintar region.

The victims remain isolated in their rooms at the airline’s designated layover accommodation while authorities pursue the case.
Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew confirmed with Fiji Sun that they have initiated the official investigation, stating police are examining reports of theft and rape or sexual assault allegations following the crew’s night out.

Virgin Australia’s Chief Operating Officer Stuart Aggs addressed the situation on January 1st, acknowledging the gravity of the security breach. He emphasized the company’s commitment to crew welfare, stating that supporting the affected staff members stands as their primary concern.

Last year, A flight attendant from Air India (AI) endured a physical assault at the Radisson Hotel London Heathrow when an intruder entered her room at 1:30 AM. The attacker believed to be a homeless individual, wielded a clothes hanger and attempted to drag the crew member during the assault.
Fellow crew members responded to the victim’s distress calls and intervened, leading to the attacker’s apprehension. The flight attendant sustained minor injuries and received treatment at a local hospital before returning to India.
Air India initiated immediate support measures, including professional counseling services for the affected crew member and her colleagues. The airline collaborates with London police to pursue legal action against the perpetrator.
The security breach at the crew layover hotel prompted Air India to engage with Radisson Hotel management regarding enhanced security protocols.
