PATNA- A bomb threat was reported on an IndiGo Airlines (6E) flight from Ahmedabad (AMD) to Patna (PAT), prompting swift action from airport authorities and adding to a recent spate of security scares across India’s transportation network.
The threat, though unverified at the time of reporting, comes shortly after a hoax call triggered a bomb alert at Jammu Railway Station, intensifying nationwide vigilance. IndiGo and airport officials are implementing standard safety protocols to ensure passenger security, reported HT.

IndiGo Ahmedabad to Patna Flight Bomb Threat
Aviation A2Z finds out that the flight involved in the incident is IndiGo Airlines 6E921 from Ahmedabad (AMD) to Patna (PAT).
According to FlightRadar24 data, the flight departed from AMD at 11:14 AM local time and landed safely in PAT at 12:55 PM IST (a couple of hours ago from writing this post).
The flight was operated by a 1.6-year-old Airbus A320neo, registered as VT-IQI.
The bomb threat involving the IndiGo (6E) flight from Ahmedabad to Patna underscores a concerning trend of hoax threats and security alerts that have disrupted air and rail services in recent weeks.
Airport security personnel immediately moved the aircraft to an isolation bay where specialized teams conducted comprehensive security checks. Emergency protocols ensured the safe evacuation of all 192 passengers aboard the flight within 40 minutes of the threat notification.
The bomb threat materialized through a WhatsApp message that reached IndiGo station manager Shalini’s mobile phone after the aircraft had completed its landing procedures. The threatening message displayed an image of a napkin tissue bearing the word “bomb,” according to communications relayed to Air Traffic Control personnel.
Air Traffic Control operators responded swiftly by alerting the Central Industrial Security Force upon receiving the threat information. The CISF activated standard security protocols designed to handle such incidents at aviation facilities.

Similar Incidents
This incident follows a similar alert at Jammu Railway Station, where an anonymous caller claimed an explosive device had been planted. Authorities conducted a detailed sweep of the station, and no suspicious items were found. The call was later classified as a hoax.
On the same day, a bomb alert was triggered at Udyog Bhawan in New Delhi, a high-security zone that houses several central government departments. Law enforcement and emergency teams were dispatched, though no explosive was detected.
A comparable security situation occurred on May 13, 2025, when an IndiGo flight en route from Imphal (IMF) to Mumbai (BOM), with a stopover in Kolkata (CCU), was diverted to an isolation bay due to a verbal bomb threat made by a passenger during boarding.
The passenger, who had landed in Kolkata and was connecting to the Mumbai flight, allegedly asked a security officer, “Do I have a bomb?” during a standard frisking procedure at the step ladder point. Given the serious nature of such remarks, even in jest, authorities detained the 26-year-old and launched a full-scale security check of the aircraft.
IndiGo confirmed that its flight 6E 5227 was moved to the isolation bay at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, delaying departure. Of the 186 passengers, 179 had already boarded when the alert was raised. The aircraft was evacuated, and a comprehensive security sweep was performed in accordance with established SOPs.
