SINGAPORE- World’s Best Carrier, Singapore Airlines (SQ), has filed flight changes to its Northern Winter 2025-26 schedule, detailing aircraft changes, route suspensions, and frequency adjustments across multiple destinations.

These changes, effective from late October 2025 through early March 2026, aim to optimize fleet utilization and meet seasonal demand.

Notable route modifications affect cities including Auckland (AKL), Frankfurt (FRA), London Heathrow (LHR), and Seoul Incheon (ICN), with several long-haul services seeing upgrades or downgrades in aircraft type.

According to Aeroroutes, these adjustments reflect continued fine-tuning of the carrier’s global network for the winter 2025-26.

Singapore Airlines Flight Changes

For the Northern Winter 2025-26 period, Singapore Airlines is making precise adjustments to better align its operations with forecasted travel trends.

Beginning 18 January 2026, the Singapore–Auckland (AKL) route will see the SQ285/286 service upgraded to the Airbus A380, joining the daily A350 and 777-300ER flights on this route. This change enhances capacity on a high-demand long-haul route.

The Singapore–Barcelona (BCN) nonstop service will be suspended from 3 February 2026 to 5 March 2026. However, connectivity to Barcelona will be maintained via the Singapore (SIN) – Milan Malpensa (MXP) – Barcelona (BCN) routing, which will increase from 3 to 5 weekly flights, using the A350-900.

In Europe, major changes affect Frankfurt (FRA), where nonstop services will rise from 7 to 13 weekly starting 18 January 2026. The A350-900 will operate these flights, while the SQ326/325 services will switch from the A380 to the 777-300ER.

London Heathrow (LHR) and Milan Malpensa (MXP) also face temporary service reductions during February and March.

Aircraft Swaps and Suspensions

In regional operations, Singapore Airlines is making aircraft type changes and temporary suspensions to enhance operational efficiency.

Starting 26 October 2025, A350-900 aircraft will replace the originally planned 787-10 on the Singapore–Denpasar (DPS) and Singapore–Kuala Lumpur (KUL) routes. Similar swaps are being made on Hong Kong (HKG) and Manila (MNL) services.

Several South Korea routes will see service suspensions. The SQ612/611 to Seoul Incheon (ICN) will be paused from 12 January to 8 February 2026, while SQ606/605 will be suspended from 23 February to 13 March 2026, reducing Seoul frequencies from four to three daily.

Meanwhile, the Singapore–Taipei Taoyuan (TPE) seasonal SQ872/873 will resume from 2 February 2026 with four weekly A350-900 flights, increasing total service from 14 to 18 weekly.

In Japan, services to Sapporo (CTS) resume seasonally from 30 November 2025, peaking at 7 weekly by year-end.

International and Regional Route Optimizations

Singapore Airlines will deploy its A380 on the Singapore–Shanghai Pudong (PVG) route from 1 February 2026, replacing the 777-300ER to handle higher demand.

Meanwhile, Christchurch (CHC) service will expand to 11 weekly flights during peak season from 24 November 2025 to 13 February 2026.

The Singapore–Beijing Daxing (PKX) route will be suspended from 5 January to 1 February 2026, while select flights to Beijing Capital (PEK) will also be canceled in late 2025.

Busan (PUS) frequency will increase from four to six weekly beginning 28 October 2025, then rise to daily from 1 February 2026.

In South Asia, Colombo (CMB) flights will rise to 10 weekly starting 6 January 2026. The additional services will be operated by the A350-900, expanding capacity on this growing market.
