Peak Eid Al Fitr Holiday Traffic

Emirates Airline forecasts exceptionally busy periods before and during Eid Al Fitr as traveler volumes surge in Dubai. The airline expects peak departure times at Terminal 3 on March 28-29 and April 5-6, with over 80,000 daily passengers embarking on spring break holidays.

Traffic congestion will likely affect Terminal 3 entrances, prompting Emirates to urge passengers to allocate extra travel time to avoid delays. The airline recommends passengers arrive at the airport three hours before flight time and monitor boarding times carefully to reach departure gates punctually.

Emirates offers multiple check-in options to streamline the process. Passengers can complete online check-in through emirates.com or the Emirates App starting 48 hours before departure. The Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store at ICD Brookfield Place accepts check-ins from 24 hours up to 4 hours before flights, except for US-bound travelers.

Home check-in services from residences or hotels provide additional convenience, while Terminal 3 features check-in kiosks, baggage drop facilities, and mobile check-in ports throughout. Travelers from the northern Emirates can utilize the Ajman Central Bus Terminal for check-in between 24 and 4 hours pre-flight.

The airline provides complimentary night-before luggage drop-off and allows passengers to check in early with their bags 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours for US flights. This enables direct access to immigration or Smart Tunnel processing.

Emirates instructs passengers to complete passport control and security clearance 90 minutes before departure. Passengers must reach their gate no later than 60 minutes before flight time for Premium Economy or Economy Class, and 45 minutes for First or Business Class.

Boarding gates close 20 minutes before departure and late arrivals will be denied boarding as Emirates strictly enforces check-in and gate closure times to maintain schedule integrity.
