According to FlightRadar24 data, American Airlines flight AA735 took off from London Heathrow at 10:12 AM UTC.

After being airborne for over eight hours, the flight aligned with Runway 33 to land. After landing the aircraft slowed down.

The incident occurred during the aircraft’s left turn onto taxiway A, which requires a sharp angle maneuver. During this turn, the left main landing gear veered into soft ground adjacent to the taxiway, Aviation Herald reported.

Despite this excursion, the flight crew maintained control and guided the aircraft to its designated parking position on the apron.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) documented the event in their official report, stating:

AIRCRAFT LANDED AND WHILE TURNING ONTO TAXIWAY, LEFT WHEEL WENT INTO THE GRASS, CHARLOTTE, NC.”

The aircraft involved in the incident is a Boeing 777-300ER, registered as N717AN. Further, it is a 12.3-year-old aircraft powered by GE90 engines.

The aircraft was grounded at Charlotte Airport following the incident and is still on the ground after almost three days.

A CargoJet-operated Amazon Prime aircraft overran the northern runway at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) during the early hours of Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The incident occurred at 1:45 a.m. PT when the cargo plane exceeded the runway’s eastern boundary.

The three crew members evacuated the aircraft without sustaining injuries. YVR’s fire and rescue teams responded immediately to the scene, where they found the aircraft embedded in muddy terrain beyond the runway’s end.

YVR CEO Tamara Vrooman outlined the recovery challenges, revealing plans to construct temporary road infrastructure for bringing in extraction equipment. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada must complete its investigation before recovery operations can commence.

The north runway closure has forced YVR to redirect all flights to the south runway. This operational adjustment impacted approximately five percent of Tuesday’s scheduled flights. Airport officials have instructed passengers to verify their flight status directly with airlines.

Vrooman assured the public that the aircraft remained within the airport’s secure perimeter, maintaining a safe distance from the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet mall and parking facilities. The airport scheduled cargo removal operations for Tuesday while awaiting Transportation Safety Board clearance to proceed with the aircraft’s extraction.

A Hawaiian Airlines (HA) Airbus A321neo experienced brake issues during landing at Kahului Airport in Maui on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Flight HA29 from Seattle overran its designated stopping point on Runway 2/20 at approximately 1:30 p.m. local time.

The Hawaii Department of Transportation confirmed the aircraft encountered braking problems during the landing sequence. All 173 passengers and six crew members emerged unharmed from the incident, with the aircraft sustaining no visible damage.

Airport authorities implemented immediate safety protocols, closing Runway 2/20 temporarily. The closure prompted the diversion of one mainland-bound flight to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu. Kahului Airport maintained operations by redirecting flights to Runway 5/23, allowing interisland services to continue without interruption.
