In 2025, the airline will roll out its largest-ever transatlantic schedule, offering flights to 33 destinations across Europe.

Service further expands to 13 weekly flights during peak season from June 8 to September 7, 2025.
The Atlanta-Athens daily flights operate as DL222 departing Atlanta at 17:05, arriving in Athens at 10:55 the next day. Return flight DL223 departs Athens at 09:10, reaching Atlanta at 14:25.
Additional service DL296 leaves Atlanta at 15:40 except Tuesdays, arriving in Athens at 09:30 the following day. DL297 returns from Athens at 11:40 except Wednesdays, landing in Atlanta at 16:50.
The US Department of Transportation (DOT) data as shared by aviation analyst, James Pearson reveals Delta’s Atlanta-Edinburgh route achieved exceptional load factors, averaging 92% occupancy between May 2023 and September 2024. Peak occupancy reached 95%, while the lowest recorded figure maintained 87%, indicating robust demand sustaining high-yield operations.
Edinburgh Airport demonstrates remarkable growth in North American connectivity, capitalizing on the city’s expanding tourism appeal and global recognition. This strategic development has redirected traffic from neighboring Glasgow Airport, establishing Edinburgh as Scotland’s primary gateway for transatlantic travel.
The capacity expansion aligns with Edinburgh’s broader aviation strategy, strengthening its position as a key European destination for North American carriers. Market analysis indicates sustained passenger demand, supporting increased frequency and capacity deployment on established routes.
