Where in the World Does Qatar Airways Fly its QSuite Business Class?

dailyblitz.de 2 часы назад

DOHA- Qatar Airways (QR) operates its flagship Qsuite Business Class product exclusively on 22 routes from its Doha hub, ensuring passengers experience this premium cabin without variation.

The airline has expanded its Qsuite equipped fleet to 80 wide body aircraft, representing 40% of its total wide body passenger fleet, with strategic deployments guaranteeing the product on key long-haul services.

This expansion follows resolutions with Airbus in April 2023, allowing reinstatement of stored A350s and new deliveries, which restored the Qsuite guarantee on routes like Singapore Changi Airport (SIN).

Travelers benefit from consistent privacy and luxury, though operational swaps pose a minor risk, mitigated by the airline’s guarantee policy.

Qatar Airways Qsuite Routes

Qatar Airways equips specific wide body aircraft with the Qsuite, its award winning Business Class product featuring private suites, closing doors, and convertible double beds.

According to Mainly Miles, the airline now operates 80 such aircraft out of 202 wide body passenger planes, an increase of three since the previous update, driven by one new Airbus A350-1000 delivery and refits of 2 Boeing 777-300ERs in April and May 2025.

The A350-1000 fleet achieves 100% Qsuite installation across all 25 aircraft, making it the only type that guarantees the product on any route.

The A350-900 fleet reaches 29% Qsuite fitment with 10 out of 34 planes equipped, while the Boeing 777-300ER stands at 70% with 40 out of 57 retrofitted. The Boeing 777-200LR follows at 71% with 5 out of 7 fitted.

Aircraft types without Qsuite include the A330-200 (0 out of 6), A330-300 (0 out of 10), A380 (0 out of 8), Boeing 787-8 (0 out of 32), and Boeing 787-9 (0 out of 23).

Excluding narrower bodies like the A330, A380, and 787 where Qsuite does not fit, the completion rate rises to 65%.

Routes Featuring Exclusive Qsuite Operations

Qatar Airways deploys Qsuite-equipped aircraft exclusively on 22 routes from Doha (DOH) through March 28, 2026, using either all A350-1000s or a mix of fitted A350-900s, 777-200LRs, and 777-300ERs.

Adelaide (ADL) remains on the list until November 30, 2025, while Sao Paulo (GRU) joins from November 1, 2025, maintaining the total at 22 cities.

Codeshare Routes with Guaranteed Qsuite

Qatar Airways partners with Virgin Australia (VA) on codeshare flights to Australian cities, all using Qsuite-equipped Boeing 777-300ERs.

These services supplement Qatar’s own routes to Brisbane (BNE), Melbourne (MEL), Perth (PER), and add Sydney (SYD), which lacks Qsuite on Qatar’s direct A380 operations.

The codeshare details include:

Route Flights (Codeshare) Aircraft Notes
Brisbane (BNE) VA15/16 (QR8404/8405) 77W
Melbourne (MEL) VA7/8 (QR8402/8403) 77W From Dec 1, 2025

Sydney (SYD) VA1/2 (QR8400/8401) 77W

Specific Flights Ensuring Qsuite Access

Nine additional routes offer Qsuite on select flight numbers, allowing passengers to choose accordingly for the product.

Examples include Amsterdam (AMS) on QR273/274 using Boeing 777-300ER, and Bali Denpasar (DPS) on QR960/961 and QR962/963 using A350-900s.

From November 1, 2025, Kuala Lumpur (KUL) on QR852/853 switches to A350-1000s for guaranteed Qsuite. Johannesburg (JOH) on QR1363/1364 uses A350-900s from December 1, 2025.

London Heathrow (LHR) employs Qsuite on all flights except twice-daily A380s until October 25, 2025, after which QR3/4 upgrades to 777-300ER.

Other routes: Madrid (MAD) on QR149/150 (777), Manchester (MAN) on QR27/28 (A350-900), Mumbai (BOM) on QR556/557 except specific days (A350-900), and Paris (CDG) on QR41/42 (777).

These options prove valuable for Avios redemptions from Singapore (SIN), where direct flights face tighter availability.

Routes Without Qsuite Availability

Half of Qatar Airways’ routes from Doha (DOH) use non-Qsuite aircraft, mainly short-haul to the Middle East, Africa, India, and Eastern Europe, often with narrowbody A320s like Belgrade (BEG), Baku (GYD), Larnaca (LCA), and Sofia (SOF).

Longer routes without Qsuite, per the winter 2025 schedule, include Barcelona (BCN), Dublin (DUB), Düsseldorf (DUS), Frankfurt (FRA), London Gatwick (LGW), and Munich (MUC), all operated by Boeing 787s.

Alternative Business Class

Qatar Airways deploys its Boeing 787-9 “Business Suite” on routes lacking Qsuite, featuring door-enclosed seats for privacy.

With 23 aircraft in service, destinations include Barcelona (BCN) with 3 daily flights, Bangkok (BKK) 1 daily from October 25, Berlin (BER) 2 to 3 daily, Frankfurt (FRA) two daily, Hanoi (HAN) 2 daily, Johannesburg (JOH) 1 daily, London Gatwick (LGW) up to 2 daily, Madrid (MAD) 1 daily, Manchester (MAN) 2 to 3 daily, and Munich (MUC) two daily.

Managing Operational Changes and Guarantees

Operational swaps occur rarely, affecting only 1.1% of Singapore (SIN) departures in the last month, substituting older Collins Super Diamond seats in a 1-2-1 configuration.

This product offers solid privacy for solo travelers but lacks Qsuite’s double bed option for couples.

Qatar Airways provides a Qsuite Guarantee for affected bookings, allowing free changes to confirmed Qsuite flights within 21 days on the same route. Award tickets using Avios qualify, requiring only commercial space availability.

Experiencing the Qsuite Product

The Qsuite delivers exceptional privacy with quad seating options and full double beds, though seats measure smaller than First Class.

Food and service have improved since its 2018 launch, including recent caviar additions on Doha (DOH) to Singapore (SIN) flights. Travelers praise its design for long-haul comfort.

Qatar Airways introduced peak/off-peak Avios pricing, increasing Business Class redemptions by 20% during peak periods.

From Singapore (SIN), off-peak rates to Doha (DOH) start at 50,000 Avios plus S$229 taxes; to London (LHR) at 75,000 Avios plus S$350; to Athens (ATH) at 70,000 Avios plus S$350; to New York (JFK) at 95,000 Avios plus S$494. Peak adds 25% more Avios.

Comparisons with other programs show Avios as competitive, despite reintroduced surcharges in 2024. Asia Miles requires 63,000 to Doha plus S$521; Qatar Privilege Club 75,000 plus S$521; Malaysia Airlines Enrich 82,000 plus S$521.

No fuel surcharges apply for Privilege Club or Avios redemptions on Qatar flights.

Qsuite 2.0

Qatar Airways unveiled Qsuite 2.0 for Boeing 777-9s, delayed to 2026, featuring taller doors, wider seats, and facing window suites.

Upcoming A350-1000 deliveries from 2026 will install it first, enhancing privacy and space across the fleet.
