United Airlines Chicago Routes

Beginning May 22, United will operate a daily flight from Chicago to Ontario using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, Ishrion Aviation reported.

Simultaneously, the carrier will introduce a daily route to Billings, Montana, utilizing an Embraer E175 regional jet. Two days later, on May 24, United will commence a weekly service to Halifax, Canada, also operated with an Embraer E175 aircraft.

Summer 2025 Routes Changes from Chicago

United Airlines is strategically repositioning its international network from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) with significant route resumptions and aircraft modifications for the 2025 summer season. The carrier’s comprehensive route adjustments demonstrate a nuanced approach to meeting global travel demands and optimizing operational efficiency.

The Athens route will launch earlier than initially planned, operating daily from 1 May to 24 September 2025 using a Boeing 787-10 aircraft. This upgrade from the previously scheduled 787-8 provides enhanced passenger capacity and improved comfort for transatlantic travelers.

Barcelona services will commence on 21 April 2025, predating the original 1 May start date. The route will initially deploy a Boeing 787-10, transitioning to a 787-8 from 1 May, maintaining daily operations throughout the summer season.

Dublin flights will undergo an equipment upgrade, replacing the smaller 757-200 with a Boeing 787-8 starting 29 March 2025. This modification ensures improved passenger experience and operational performance on the transatlantic route.

Milan Malpensa seasonal services will resume on 7 April 2025, slightly later than the initially proposed 29 March date. The route will maintain daily operations using the Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

Munich flights will transition from the 787-10 to the 787-8 beginning 29 March 2025, preserving the route’s daily frequency. Conversely, Paris Charles de Gaulle services will see the 787-10 replace the 787-8 from 29 March 2025, also maintaining daily operations.

Leisure travelers will benefit from expanded Nordic connectivity with the Chicago O’Hare–Reykjavik Keflavik route resuming from 19 May to 23 September 2025. The daily service will be operated by a 757-200, reflecting robust demand for this destination.

The Shannon route will similarly return for the summer season, offering daily 757-200 flights from 22 May to 23 September 2025. This expansion underscores United’s commitment to providing comprehensive international travel options from its Chicago hub.
