DALLAS- Southwest Airlines (WN) will add Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa, California, to its network starting April 7, 2026. Tickets for the inaugural service go on sale tomorrow through Southwest.com.

The expansion will connect Santa Rosa (STS) to multiple cities, strengthening Southwest Airlines’ (WN) long-term commitment to California and expanding travel options to the state’s renowned Wine Country.

Southwest Airlines will launch nonstop flights from Santa Rosa (STS) to four cities: San Diego (SAN), Las Vegas (LAS), Denver (DEN), and Burbank (BUR). San Diego and Las Vegas routes will run daily, with two San Diego round-trips offered on peak days.

Burbank flights will operate five days per week, while Denver service is scheduled once weekly on Saturdays.

This addition brings STS into Southwest’s California route map as its 14th airport in the state.

The airline has positioned itself as the leader in intra-California travel by operating without regional partners, maintaining the highest seat capacity, and offering the most daily departures within the state.

New Destinations on the Horizon

The Santa Rosa expansion is part of a broader network strategy. Earlier announcements confirmed new routes beginning in 2026 to St. Thomas (STT) in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Knoxville (TYS) in Tennessee, and St. Maarten (SXM).

Southwest (WN) has also indicated plans to unveil another destination soon, further diversifying its schedule.

The new service from Santa Rosa (STS) provides direct access to two major airports undergoing upgrades.

Southwest flights will connect Wine Country travelers to the upcoming Terminal 1 in San Diego (SAN) and the reimagined Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR). This move highlights the airline’s effort to connect secondary airports with high-demand hubs.

California remains a cornerstone for Southwest Airlines. By operating more intra-state flights than any competitor, Southwest continues to serve as the top carrier for passengers within the state.

With the addition of Santa Rosa, the airline deepens its presence in Northern California, opening more convenient travel opportunities for both leisure and business travelers.
