MONTREAL- Porter Airlines (PD) is strengthening its presence in the New York metropolitan area by introducing a new direct route between Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
This expansion enhances travel options for passengers while reinforcing Porter’s commitment to seamless connectivity.
Starting June 1, 2025, the airline will operate one roundtrip flight daily, increasing to twice daily during peak summer months.
The route will be served by Porter’s 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft, offering premium in-flight amenities.

Porter Airlines (PD) new Montréal (YUL) – Newark (EWR) route aligns with its broader strategy to increase connectivity between major North American destinations. The initial Porter Airlines Newark flight schedule is as follows:

This expansion strengthens Porter’s presence at Newark, complementing existing flights to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) and Ottawa International Airport (YOW).
Additionally, Porter is launching a Toronto Pearson (YYZ) – LaGuardia (LGA) route this spring, further enhancing its U.S. connectivity.
Passengers on Porter’s Dash 8-400 aircraft will enjoy a comfortable journey with no middle seats, complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, and premium snacks.
Those opting for PorterReserve fares will benefit from extra legroom, priority check-in, and boarding, and included checked baggage.
The Montréal-Newark route also connects seamlessly to Porter’s domestic network, with onward flights available to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Halifax.
Additionally, these flights are scheduled to enable smooth connections with Air Transat’s European destinations via Montréal.

Porter Airlines has emphasized the importance of Newark Airport in its network since 2008.
According to Andrew Pierce, Vice President of Network Planning and Reporting at Porter Airlines, the addition of a nonstop route from Montréal further expands travel options for passengers heading to the New York area.
Aéroports de Montréal also supports Porter’s expansion at YUL. Karl Brochu, Vice President of Airport Operations and Air Services Development at Aéroports de Montréal, stated that this new service strengthens transborder connectivity and enhances links to Europe.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey acknowledges the increasing demand for seamless travel.
Charles R. Everett Jr., Aviation Director at the Port Authority, highlighted that this expansion demonstrates a commitment to providing greater flexibility for travelers in the New York-New Jersey area.
