The ultra low cost carrier is adding 9 new destinations, including Aruba and Honduras, with fares starting as low as $29. This expansion will also boost local employment, with the airline expecting to employ over 1,200 personnel in Atlanta this year.

Frontier Airlines (F9) announced a major operational expansion at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), reinforcing its commitment to offering budget friendly travel options.
By summer, the airline will serve 52 destinations, marking a 40% increase in departures compared to the previous year.
The Frontier Airlines expansion includes 9 new routes launching between May and June 2025, with destinations such as Oranjestad, Aruba, and San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Frontier has emerged as the third largest airline in Atlanta, reflecting its dedication to strengthening regional connectivity.
The airline’s presence at Atlanta includes a significant workforce, with over 1,200 employees expected this year, spanning pilots, flight attendants, customer service, ground handling, and maintenance roles. The total economic wage impact is projected to exceed $111 million annually.

Strategic Partnership with Atlanta Airport
The collaboration between Frontier Airlines and ATL leadership aligns with the airport’s broader mission of expanding connectivity and economic growth.
Jan Lennon, interim general manager of Hartsfield-Jackson, highlighted the significance of this expansion, stating that it demonstrates the strength of Atlanta’s aviation market and enhances travel options for passengers.
Additionally, Frontier has recently relocated its operations at Atlanta to newly constructed gates in the E Concourse, further solidifying its long-term investment in the airport’s infrastructure.
Frontier’s low-cost business model makes travel more accessible to Atlanta-based passengers. The airline claims its fares are, on average, 60% lower than competitors at ATL.
To celebrate the expansion, it is offering limited-time fares starting at $29 for select routes.
James Dempsey, President of Frontier Airlines, emphasized the airline’s dual focus on affordability and an improved customer experience.
“We are dedicated to making flying affordable while enhancing the overall travel experience with new offerings, including a first-class seat option,” Dempsey stated.

Enhancing the Passenger Experience
Frontier Airlines is introducing new product and service enhancements under its ‘The New Frontier’ initiative.
These improvements include more transparent pricing, expanded customer service options, and new seat upgrade offerings, such as the UpFront Plus seat with extra space.
The airline will also introduce first-class seating and enhancements to its FRONTIER Miles program, featuring Free Companion Travel and expanded redemption options.
