Back in June, American Express announced it would refresh its premium cards later this fall, though the details were scarce. With September 18 now confirmed, the scope of changes is becoming clear.
According to Thrifty Traveler, cardholders will see the annual fee rise to $895, paired with an increased $600 credit for Fine Hotels + Resorts®. This represents one of the most significant adjustments in years, aiming to enhance travel value while raising the cost of holding the card.
Anticipated Benefits and Lifestyle Credits
The personal Platinum Card will likely expand into new lifestyle perks. One expected addition is a dining credit for US Resy restaurants, following the model of the American Express® Gold Card and Delta SkyMiles® co-branded cards.
